The Confrontation
The corner where ideas take solidity; where the confrontation between personal dialogue and matter are face to face akin to a dance looming closer, which expands throughout the room. The room has to travel in our suitcase and to be packed and unpacked within another space of unknown conditions.
I come to a focal point within the process, concurrently within confrontation of the comfort and the circumstantial, that struggle of which the results are unknown.
In this hospitable yet sinful and deceitful environment, it may be that… a game of double-mindedness takes its turn in a lapse with a moment of hospitality yet, as in many stories, it takes its time, its moment and its agony.
Let us come to the point and moment of creation with these unknown conditions, in which creation is subject to various contextual factors. The materials and conditional factors are experienced immediately in a “contaminated” or “conditioned” compromise within the space of convergence. With the passing of days, there is resolution and determination. Determining the line in the investigation; the line traced on paper; the line of infinite development, only began with the basic ‘point and the line.’ When I look for it in the space and there they are all to converge.
Then as time went on, it was in Ateliers ’89 where I recollected some of the aspects that were in the archive of my oblivion, this ‘time’ was the opportunity to practice some of the points that were usually enclosed – ‘encrypted’ in my personal creative process. It became memory and practice.
Language. Be it by any language barrier, we shared, coexisted under the same roof, with this need for dialogue that is in a confrontation. We need to break, decompose to create a new verbal order or verbal disorder. Critical dialogue is where I want to get to, with the confrontation of ideas, thoughts, processes, languages and ‘time’.
‘Time’ being the recognition of the ecosystem and with it its confrontation, which appears to be constant. Constancy to the one who has this opportunity to take and use the available tools, which hope to be utilized by those who want to take them.
It was an experiential schooling, which rather than generating links, there were forms of interrelations. We shared more than ‘time.’ Experiential. It becomes part of our memory – the line in memory from the beginning of the artist-residency, ‘time’ to create and keep alive this ecosystem that we have experienced. These are mechanisms that belong to other mechanisms we are yet to discover. We are living memory. A line in ‘time’, life on the line.

La confrontación
En aquel rincón donde las ideas toman solidez donde la confrontación entre el diálogo personal y la materia se ven cara a cara, un baile se avecina, se expande en toda la habitación. La habitación tiene que viajar en tu maleta, empacar para ser desempacada en otro espacio, con condiciones desconocidas. La confrontación concurrente del confort y lo circunstancial están en esa lucha del cual desconocemos su resultado y el enfoque me da para hacer una parada en lo procesual. En este ambiente hospitalario pecaminoso, engañoso, será que… El juego de la doble moral toma su turno en este lapsus, de momento hospitalario, pero, como en cualquier historia le toma su tiempo, su momento, su agonía.
Pero vengamos al punto y momento de creación con condiciones desconocidas, en el que la creación se ve sujeta a diversos factores contextuales. El confluir en el espacio con los materiales y los factores condicionales los cuales son inmediatamente una forma de “contaminación” o “condición” que se comprometen. Con el paso de los días da paso a la resolución, determinación. Determinando la línea de búsqueda, la línea de trabajo sobre el papel, la línea de desarrollo que no tiene fin, solo un punto y línea son necesarios para comenzar, busco en el espacio y ahí están para confluir todos.
Con el paso de los días y este tiempo en Ateliers ‘89 me hace retomar algunos aspectos que se han puesto en el archivo de olvido, este es el momento, la oportunidad para poner en práctica algunos aspectos que usualmente al estar encerrado en tu proceso personal creativo, encriptas. Deviene memoria y práctica.
El lenguaje, compartir, coexistir bajo el mismo techo, con esta necesidad de dialogo que esta en una confrontación, sea por cualquier barrera del lenguaje. Necesitamos quebrar, descomponer para crear un nuevo orden verbal, o desorden verbal, dialogar críticamente es a donde quiero llegar, en la confrontación de ideas, pensamientos, procesos, lenguajes, tiempos. En el tiempo deviene el reconocimiento de tu ecosistema y con ello su confrontación que parece una constante. Constante el que tiene esta oportunidad de tomar y usar las herramientas disponibles y dispuestas a ser ejecutadas por quien desea tomarlas.
Es un aprendizaje completamente vivo, que genera vínculos, más que vínculos, interrelaciones que tal vez podría describir. Compartes más que tiempo. Experiencial. Se vuelve parte de tu memoria, la línea en la memoria que comenzó en este tiempo de residencia, tiempo para crear y mantener vivo este ecosistema que nos toca vivenciar, son mecanismos que pertenecen a otros mecanismos y que estamos por encontrar, por descubrir. Somos memoria viva. Línea en el tiempo, vida en la línea.
